It began as a modern lovestory, of the hopeless romantic kind, between Detmar Blow and the late Isabella Blow, (19th Nov,1958-7th May, 2007), where the once, Fashion assistant to Anna Wintour at Vogue, steadily rose within the ranks before landing her role as Fashion Director of Tatlers UK. Blow is accredited with discovering the likes of designers, Alexander McQueen, Milliner, Philip Treacy, Models Sophie Dahl and Stella Tennant.
In a collaborative effort to commenorate the late, Isabella Blow, The Designer Gallery and producer Milosh Harajda, in association with The Isabella Blow Foundation founded by Daphne Guiness, presented an exhibition as a romantic nod to the patreon of style herself, titled :- “MEMORY”, which under the guidance of Professor Libena Rochová, presents a selection of The Isabella Blow Foundation collection. The audience in the Czech Republic had the unique opportunity to see the original works collected and treasured by the celebrated British muse, fashion stylist and chameleon, Isabella Blow.
“We are open to unconventional projects and we wanted to bring our visitors a unique experience,” said Petra Valentová, Marketing Director of Centrum Chodov. The vision of supporting young talents meets with the merit of The Isabella Blow Foundation, which manages the archival collection of the legendary British stylist. The exhibition MEMORY, designed by the architect Magdalena Rochová, is installed in the heart of The Designer Gallery, a platform, whose mission is to support the local fashion and design scene.
“The idea of presenting The Isabella Blow Foundation collection in Prague was following me since 2013, when Daphne Guinness first showed the world a complete collection of Isabella Blow installed in London’s The Somerset House. The exhibition MEMORY was created in close cooperation with Daphne’s team, which gave us the opportunity to prepare an original curatorial concept, and it is a great honour for us to introduce to the Czech audience also three models that were part of the legendary retrospective exhibition Savage Beauty,” said the producer Milosh Harajda during the opening, where 14 models selected by Libena Rochová the curator of the exhibition, were presented.
